Our Story

Kayla Michelle in the mountains of Washington

Care for bodies that carry a lot

For thirteen years, I've worked with skin, and I've noticed the same thing again and again: people arrive carrying more than their skin. Shoulders lifted, breath held, apologizing for taking up time. I created Anaka Soma for the moment after they exhale.

I'm Kayla Michelle, Kay to most, a Washington State licensed esthetician and the founder of Anaka Soma. I know what it is to live in a body that feels the world loudly. Skin isn't vanity. It's communication, and true care begins with listening.

Ritual as regulation

The world is loud and reactive. A slow breath, a warm cup of tea, a crème pressed slowly into your skin: small rituals like these tell your body it's safe to soften. That's what Anaka Soma is for.

A place to soften

Anaka Soma is for people who are tired of being rushed: sensitive systems, tender bodies, and anyone who is healing or finding their way back to themselves. Here, care is slow and unhurried, with soft textures, simple ingredients, and no pressure to be anyone other than who you are.

Chosen with care

Each collection is chosen by me, with sensitive skin and sensory sensitivities in mind. Every body responds differently, and some products contain citrus or other botanicals that sensitive skin can react to, so I encourage you to read each ingredient list before you purchase. Each collection is meant to support your care and never to replace the guidance of your doctor or provider. Not sure where to begin? Book a virtual skincare consultation and we'll find a ritual that feels right for you.
